more About Jane
Working alongside David now for over 10 years, Jane prides herself on client service, attention to detail and honesty.
Colleagues would describe Jane as someone who gets the job done, however knows how to have lots of fun.
When she’s not working, you will find Jane pounding the pavement, attending kids sport, and enjoying fine wine and culinary delights.
Background and Experience
Jane’s work life prior to joining the legal industry 15 years ago was focused on sales and marketing, having joined Newcastle's (then only) FM radio station soon after leaving school, and then some years later being the support staff for the marketing team at a national television station.
These years of dealing with people have stood Jane in great stead to deal with the multiple personalities of people who instruct us at Reidlaw regarding Wills and Estates.
Jane multitasks in dealing with the protection of significant assets of our clients wanting to use Trust structures as asset protection strategies, at the same time as compassionately caring for grieving family members in processing Deceased Estates.
Whereas Jane can simply deal with the "ma and pa" wills, Jane's sweet spot is in working with our team on the more complex estate plans involving multiple protective Trusts and weaving an estate plan into an already existing org chart.
Jane is also adept at producing the different types of Trusts that are required in these circumstances – vanilla Discretionary Trusts; Fixed Trusts; and the accounting-preferred Hybrid Trusts, in which the blend of discretion is met by the rigidity of fixed capital entitlements.
Jane also leads our Corporate Secretariat team, in which we offer company secretary services to our corporate clients. This is a sought-after service for many of our Private Clients who want us to not only hold all their original records in our Safe Custody, but also manage the company secretarial tasks for each of the corporate entities in their group. Jane therefore often the conduit between client and Reidlaw being the "gatekeeper" or "records guardian" (as one of our clients quite aptly puts it).
