Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney, graduating in 1980.
Since 1980 Peter has worked in private legal practice in Newcastle with several firms.
From 1994 to 2019 he was an employee, Partner and Consultant to McDonald Johnson Lawyers located in Watt Street, Newcastle.
During that time Peter was engaged by several Listed Public Companies and developers, as well as many operators of small businesses and individual private clients and particularly in the areas of property law, wills, and estates.
This extensive experience allows Peter to provide consulting services to Reidlaw to enhance the quality of the services delivered to its clients.

Admitted to the Register of Practitioners of High Court of Australia and Federal Courts since 1985.
Accredited Specialist in Property Law in NSW 1995 to 2016.

Peter is currently Chair of Diocesan Protection and Safety Council for Roman Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle; and has been involved in a variety of community endeavours over time, including:
Member of the former Board of Sandgate Cemetery Trust - 1988 to 2014.
Member of the former Board of Northern Metropolitan Cemeteries Land Manager - 2014 to 2020.
Member of the former Crown Cemeteries Advisory Committee advising the Minister for Lands - 2010 to 2012.
Former Chair of Appeals Committee for Newcastle District Cricket Association.
Hamilton-Wickham District Cricket Club player - 1974 to 1994.
